How long have you been blogging?
I started blogging at this address in October 2009, but took a hiatus soon after. I haven't stopped since resuming in January 2010!

Why did you start a blog? I discovered food blogs via The Fitnessista's in early summer of 2009. After discovering more and more awesome blogs, I decided that I wanted to start my own and become a part of this amazing community.

How much time do you spend blogging per day? I probably spend about one hour creating the actual posts, but there's a lot more behind-the-scenes work that takes up time too- responding to comments and emails, photographing my meals, and reading others' blogs. It varies depending on how much free time I have that day.

What kind of camera do you use? I have a Canon Rebel T1i, which I love. For more casual photography, I have a Panasonic Lumix point-and-shoot, which does the job just fine as well.

Do you post everything that you eat? NO! I used to post about 90% of what I ate, but now for the most part I only post meals. In addition to what I post, I also eat 2-3 daily large snacks, in the morning, afternoon and evening. I don't post everything for several reasons; one, it gets repetitive and redundant to post the same snacks day after day, and two, I don't want anyone to compare their diets to mine. I like to share meal ideas, but there is no one-size-fits-all diet!

How many calories do you eat per day? I don't count calories, but I'm maintaining my weight at a fairly high activity level, so it's definitely upwards of 2,000 a day.

How do you figure out what to eat for each meal? Do you base it off calories, macros, food groups, etc? I basically just eat what I crave. I know the amount of food it takes to fill me up, so most of my meals are roughly the same size and probably within a similar calorie range, but it's not really something I take into account when figuring out what to eat. I try to include a wide variety of foods in my daily diet, so generally most of my meals include a protein source, a fat source, a carb source, and lots of produce!

How do you refuel after a workout? How long do you wait to eat after exercising? I generally eat within an hour of exercising. I talk about how I refuel in this post.

What's your height and weight? I'm 5'7" and prefer not to post my weight. Suffice to say that my BMI is within the "healthy" range and my body is functioning as it should!

I need to gain/lose weight. Do you have any meal plans I can follow? While generally I think I'm a pretty healthy eater, I'm not a doctor or RD and therefore am not qualified to help you in that area. A lot of my meal ideas and recipes can definitely be incorporated into any weight loss/gain/management program, but I think the ins and outs are best left to discuss with a professional!

What made you decide to stop eating meat? Personal taste and preference. I was never a big meat-eater, and I've never once missed it since giving it up. I do still eat seafood from time to time, especially when I'm eating out.

Do you take any vitamins? While I believe that most nutrients are best obtained through food, I do take a few supplements: a multivitamin, a calcium with added vitamin D, a B vitamin and an omega supplement.

Have you ever had an injury? In fall of 2004, I dislocated my patella playing lacrosse and ended up having a knee orthroscopy to remove a chunk that had chipped off. It's completely healed now, but the old injury does make running painful sometimes.

Why did you stop running? Though I haven't completely stopped running, I'm currently cutting back on the amount I run due to the previously mentioned injury. I'd rather be pain-free and be active my whole life, then burn myself out at such a young age and have difficulty exercising in 20 years.

How do you manage to get to the gym so often, and so early? Do you have any tips to motivate yourself? It's a habit for me, but one that's taken a long time to acquire! I wrote a post about my tips and tricks here.

What's your major? I'm currently in my final year as a French major.

What do you plan to do post-graduation? I honestly have no idea, but I'm not leaning towards a career in French at the moment. I'm considering several options, but probably won't disclose them on the blog until I have a better idea of what I'm doing.

What would be your dream job? I'd LOVE to one day open a healthy bakery, full of treats that are both delicious and good for you. It would be a lot of work, but hey...dream BIG!

You live in New York City now, but where are you from originally? I was born in a suburb west of Philadelphia. My parents still live there, so I return home quite often!

I'm coming to New York City- do you have any suggestions for things to do? Yep- check out this post for my recommendations!

Where do you live in NYC? Do you have any tips for finding a good apartment? I don't disclose the location of my apartment on the blog for safety reasons, but I love it! I used a broker to find it, which I think really helped me find a great place. Beware, though: most brokers take a pretty large commission in addition to the fees listed. Know what you're signing!

What's your favorite place to shop? J.Crew, hands down! I love their online Factory outlet, which is usually open on weekends. Other favorite stores include Banana Republic, Gap and Target.

What's your skin-care routine? I wrote a post about that- check it out here!
