First of all, thank you all so much for your birthday comments, tweets, Facebook posts, emails and texts. Y'all really know how to make a girl feel special!
It's true what they say: New York City never shuts down. Snowstorm? What snowstorm?
Though schools are closed and the streets are a mess, most businesses are still open. Including my gym! (Yes, I worked out on my birthday. I love it and it makes me happy, so why not?)
I completed the following elliptical workout from The Fitnessista:
Nothing too hard, just enough to get the blood flowing and boost my mood! I finished up with some foam rolling and stretching before heading home for lunch.
I eat what I want every day, but today I had more of an excuse than ever to eat three of my favorite foods in one sitting :)
Lunch started with a bowl of Cheerios, blueberries and almond milk.
Continued with an almond butter sandwich on a multigrain sandwich thin.
Then concluded with a cinnamon apple.
Cereal with fruit, nut sandwiches and apples- I could honestly live off of those three foods!
And since I'm waiting until this evening to brave the slushy streets again, I've been snacking on some more favorites, including two whole-wheat Flatout wraps dipped in a fresh container of Sabra sundried tomato hummus.
Dark chocolate!
And my very slightly alcoholic beverage of choice:
Kombucha! I will only pay $4 for you on special occasions.
I've gotta stop snacking and save room for a very delectable dinner tonight. I've got a hot date with one of my favorite blends...any guesses as to where we're headed??
If you could only eat three foods for the rest of your life, what would they be?

Birthday Breakfast
A cupcake for breakfast? Don't mind if I do...
Especially when said cupcake is chocolate, covered in frosting and topped with rainbow sprinkles.
Did I mention that it's vegan?
Happy birthday to me :)
And happy January 27 to the rest of you!
What's your ideal birthday breakfast? I also had a banana + almond butter, because I don't think this little guy has much staying power on his own...

20 is So Donezo
Getting snowed in isn't so bad when you have:
1. A yummy pasta and veggie dinner.
I unearthed this Allergaroo kids' penne pasta dinner in my cabinets and decided to incorporate it into tonight's lazy-girl meal.
The slightly-mushy rice pasta wasn't awesome, but it wasn't bad, either. I added some spinach and steamed frozen veggies, and voila- dinner was served!
2. Lots of desserts.
I started off with a massive bowl of diced pineapple.
Progressed to Baker's dark chocolate.
And eventually polished off an entire pint of Ciao Bella blood orange sorbet.
Confession: up until this evening, I'd never polished off a pint of any frozen dessert. It's probably not a good habit to get into, but there's something strangely satisfying about scraping the cardboard at the end.
3. Season 1 of Laguna Beach available on MTV.com.
Four episodes later, I was in love with Stephen Colletti all over again. I did not, however, still want to raid the girls' closets. Remember how stylish their clothes were back in 2004? Apparently trends have changed faster than I realized.
While watching, I also realized that my day-old ponytail fulfilled my 14-year-old dream of looking like Lauren Conrad.
I feel so cool now.
Less than three hours left in my twentieth year. See you in the morning for the big 2-1!
Did you watch Laguna Beach or The OC? How about The Hills? I'm positive I'm not alone on this one...
