Sometimes a good name for a post just escapes me. In any case, it's been a good Monday so far!
This morning started off with a bowl of protein cereal with Kashi GoLean, chocolate SunWarrior, peanut butter and peaches.
As much as I love this combination, I think I need to start switching something up. Anyone have other cereal recommendations? I'm also going to get vanilla SunWarrior next time.
After breakfast, I hit up the gym for a BodyPump class. Lately I've been more into lifting free weights than taking classes, but I think it's important to mix things up so I don't get bored. This morning's class was absolutely packed- I felt like I was on top of the people next to me! It was a good workout, although my back is a little sunburnt from this weekend and lying on top of the hard plastic step for the chest track kind of felt like my skin was being ripped off. Ouch.
Later, I headed to lunch at Cosi with Jillian! Our usual place. I used to get the hummus & veggie, but lately I've been more about the fire-roasted veggie...
Over our sandwiches, we had another one of our serious chats. Jillian is the easiest person for me to talk to- I swear, I could tell her I killed someone and she'd figure out a way to make me feel better about it. (Which might not be a great idea in that scenario, but you know what I mean.)
Tempted to go shopping this afternoon. Someone please tell me not to go to Lululemon...
Use one word to describe your Monday thus far. Go!

Julia's 21st
I think the best thing about being home for a few months this summer has been spending time with my high school friends. Last night, I went to my friend Julia's house to celebrate her 21st birthday a few days early.
Julia's house has been the site of many high school reunions. We always sit around her dining room table and eat and talk for hours. It's the best.
The spread of food was delicious. There was an amazing birthday cake with raspberry mousse filling and buttercream frosting from Clay's:
As well as cupcakes and a fruit platter with dip:
Plus spiked iced tea and pina coladas:
And Disney Princess plates. Can't forget those.
Cheers to the birthday girl!
I had the frosting off of two slices of cake, then proceeded to eat other people's frosting that they didn't want and scrape it off the serving utensils. It's a good thing I'm shameless around these people.
I ended up staying till past 12, just chatting. Oh, and I downloaded the Harry Potter theme song to be my ringtone. So excited about that.
I love these girls :)
What are you shameless about? I have learned just not to be embarrassed by my frosting consumption. It's a part of me.

In This Club
Greetings from back in PA! My friend Lauren and I left the beach early this afternoon to beat traffic (driving home from the Jersey shore on a Sunday night is not fun, let me tell you).
Before leaving, we made another pit stop at Wawa for some hoagies. A few summers ago I lived off of these things!
Mine was the same as I had yesterday, with lots of veggies and peppers. I also bought a container of strawberries and blueberries, which I ended up saving for later in favor of this...
A F'Real milkshake! It's perhaps the best invention ever. You pick a flavor (ours was chocolate):
Put it in the machine and select a thickness:
Then a minute later, you have a perfectly blended milkshake. Laur and I split this one. It was delicious.
On the drive home, we jammed out to the wonderful array of old CDs I've had in my car since high school. Did you know that if you say the lyrics to a hip song in a normal voice, you sound like a total pervert?
Seriously, it's true. Just try talking the words to "Love In This Club." It's impossible with a straight face. Shake by the Ying Yang Twins is just as good but slightly more difficult because they rap so quickly. For experts only.
Anyway, now I'm just hanging out at home. Going to a birthday celebration tonight. Hope you're having a wonderful end to your weekend!
What's your favorite rap or hip hop song? Come on, you know there are a few morally reprehensible ones you secretly love...
