The 2010 Healthy Living Summit has officially begun J
I’d never taken a Zumba class before, and it was a ton of fun! I seriously lack the rhythm and hip-hop skills necessary to be a hardcore Zumbie, but it was absolutely an entertaining way to get my workout on. Diana more than made up for my lack of booty popping skills- she’s an amazing teacher! Thank you so much again!
Post-zumba, I made my way back to the hotel to register and pick up my swag bag.
Hearsay put the swag bag loot on an epic level, and it certainly didn’t disappoint.
Um, can you say foodie heaven? Coupons, samples and goodies galore. I was stoked about everything, but two products in particular stuck out in my mind:
Angela's Glo Bars |
Vega chocolate smoothie powder |
I’ve wanted to try both of these for ages, and I’m so excited to break into them!
With my post-Zumba hunger, I immediately ripped into the goods. I had a blackberry chamomile Solixir drink (kind of boring, but I’m a carbonation queen):
A bag of salt & pepper Popchips (lots of kick- I like!):
A Mary’s Gone Crackers cookie (not as good as the crackers, but still tasty):
And both Adora calcium disks. Luckily for me, I don’t think it’s possible to OD on calcium supplements J
My roommate Jaclyn arrived soon after, and by six we were off to the Open Sky cocktail party, held at the Lasalle Power Company.
Celeb status:
Being underage, I bore the marks of shame all night. Meghann was amused.
The double meaning of double fisting. Of course, that didn’t stop me from having a fabulous time! There was plenty of delicious food: |
Shrimp skewers |
Vegetarian quesedilla |
Spinach artichoke dip with tortilla chips |
House salad |
Red pepper hummus with pita and tortilla chips Plate numero uno. Don’t worry- there were plenty more plates shrimp, pita and hummus action going on! |
The best part of the night was catching up with some of my favorite bloggies!
Molly and I |
Me, Caitlin and Shannon |
Roomie love! Jaclyn and I |
Gina and I |
It’s always so nice to put a face to a blog. Though bloggers are usually slightly different from the way I envision them, they’re always just as warm and enthusiastic as they seem. Love them!

Okay loves, there’s a bed calling my name…I need to be well rested for my early-morning run tomorrow! Happy weekend!
What's your favorite finger food? I couldn't get enough hummus and pita tonight!
Are there any products you're dying to try but can't get your hands on? I still haven't had the new Larabar flavors!

What an awesome day! I love how when I see all the bloggers together I feel like I'm seeing celebrities :) Hope the weekend continues being awesome! Them vegetarian quesadillas look AMAZING!
Looks like the party was fun!
You look so cute! I have been wanting to try the new Larabars as well! They look soo good! I also want to try coconut butter! Yum!
Lovin' the dress! You look gorggg!
Thanks for all the updates and pictures, girl! That's a swag bag that I'd love to get my hands on, and it'd be great to be able to meet so many different bloggers.
My favorite finger food is probably hummus with basically anything I can dip in it. Crackers. Pita chips. Veggies... Oh, and I also love mini sandwiches :)
Hope the rest of HLS is a blast!
So glad you had fun at Zumba! Thanks for coming! :)
Isn't Zumba so much fun? Glad you liked it! And yea - that swag bag does look like foodie heaven. Lots of good stuff in there.
PS - You look awesome. And I had NO CLUE you weren't 21 or over. You seem so much older and wiser than most people that age. That's great!
Haha I think I lack the dance skills for Zumba too. ;) Glad you still had fun though! It must be amazing to meet so many bloggers.
...:o
so...much...swag...
///jealousy coma////
Little jealous over here! By the way, I love your dress for the cocktail party! Represent the under 21 healthy living bloggers!
wow everything looks like so much fun!!! I SO want to go next year, fingers crossed I can!
Live it up girlie!!!
Oh that looks like a blast! And it's like bloggie celebrity heaven :)
What a cool swag bag!
I am SO jealous you got to meet Gina! I think it would be so weird meeting people because of their accents. I feel a lot of the bloggers are from the East Coast, so there are so many different accents. Where as in Washington, we don't really have an accent.
I am lovinggg the swag bags. And that's great you got to meet so many awesome bloggers! I met Caitlin earlier this week and I know what you mean about bloggers being different than you envision but SO friendly and fun! Hope you keeping having a wonderful time at HLS :)
SO FUN! I'm glad that you are able to go. Sounds like you are having a blast and definitely hit the jackpot on the goodies bag! Enjoy your weekend with the blogger girls :)
I think you made an excellent point! That bloggers are always a bit different than you expect them to be! Like meeting a celebrity- you see them as the character they are etc- not their little quirks (which are equally charming).
My question: What were some of the qualities you weren't expecting (as in positives)?
For example, I think I'd be surprised by how vivacious and loud/outspoken and out going some people are in person! On blogs-or email, ppl may seem soft spoken, and so sweet etc. But once you meet them, and their personality comes through it's a surprise!!! Neither good or bad- just different! Who is the funniest/silliest person you've met? The most grounded/wise? Most gregarious?
Great post- you look gorgeous!
Barbara
haha that photo of the two of us is awful, but still so much fun! :)
hey girl,
i LOVED finally getting to meet you this weekend! wish we could have chilled more <3
so glad you liked the macaroons! hopefully i'll get to see ya again sometime soon
