Seasons 52, Take Two

Thank you all so much for your incredibly kind comments on my last post. It’s always a bit daunting to put something so personal out there, but once again, the support of this community has been incredible. Thankyouthankyouthankyou!

Last night, I met my close friend Maggie for dinner at Seasons 52. I had a great experience there a few weeks ago, and this evening was just as good!

I started off with the market vegetable soup, which came with a soft and chewy whole grain breadstick.

For my entrée, I chose the same thing I got last time: the summer market vegetable plate.

Cranberry almond tabbouleh, corn on the cob, roasted tomatoes, grilled tofu with salsa, roasted carrots, steamed asparagus, crimini mushrooms, roasted red peppers, carmelized onions, sweet potatoes and steamed broccoli. Everything was perfectly prepared, but the tabbouleh really made the meal. So summery!

Maggie ordered the lemongrass salad with salmon, which she also raved about.

Of course, we couldn’t pass on the mini indulgences! I went with the carrot cake, while Maggie got the rocky road.

The cream cheese frosting was especially amazing…I hate plain cream cheese, but add some butter and sugar and I’m an instant fan J

Mags is studying abroad in Spain this semester, so I was glad I got to spend some QT with her before she left!

We’ve been friends since high school, when we had identical hair. Clearly, she's the braver one.

Other eats of the afternoon included a chocolate-peanut butter-banana smoothie made with the Vega shake-and-go smoothie mix I got at HLS.

  • 1 c almond milk
  • large frozen banana
  • ¼ c Vega protein powder
  • 2 spoonfuls Maranatha peanut butter

Plus another Adora disk (hey, it’s calcium):

And a handful of roasted unsalted almonds:

Hope you all have a great Tuesday loves!!

Do you prefer to try a new dish each time you eat out, or do you go with what you know is good?

When was the last time you did something radical to your hair?

I don't go out to eat very often, but when I do, I tend to stick to the same things. If i'm feeling adventurous, I'll order something new. :)

I want to do something radical to my hair NOW! I really want to grow it out longer, but I think it can use a new style. I'll probably go into get it done in the next month or so! I think your hair is absolutely gorgeous though!!

That restaurant looks great! Everything looks so fresh!

I'm HORRIBLE at mixing up my hair! It's been long, blond, and straight since 5th grade. I am so boring!

Seasons 52 is great! There are so many healthy options to choose from. Typically, I will order something that I am familiar with but sometimes if I get enough courage, I will order something new. :)

I love Seasons 52!! We don't have one close to us (NC) so we try to go when we visit my in laws in Atlanta. Love their desserts!

I tend to order new things. But my options are usually limited as a vegetarian, so that's a factor as well!

I feel like there isn't much I can do with my hair especially because I think any other color wouldn't look natural on me (and I like a more natural look). I also don't think I'd look very good with short hair!

As soon as I have my baby (5 weeks) I want to do something crazy with my hair. It's been the same since high school (7 years) and I need a change!
I wish Seasons 52 was in the Midwest!

Omigosh you two definitely had the same hair! I cut mine super short this last spring. I think I'm just going to return it to its usual length. I know it looks good and I can do a lot with it at that length.

Yum, love Seasons 52, the Rocky Road is my favorite favorite dessert!

I'm impressed with the variety of veggies on that plate. I usually have a few dishes I rotate through at my favorite restaurants!

Haha i definitely find it hard to try out new dishes at places where I have a "favourite." That's why my ideal restaurant would have a short menu (to limit all the options) and a seasonally changing menu so it gives me a chance to try out something new.
That carrot cake in a cup looks AMAZING! Reminds me of the red velvet cake in a shot glass that i get at PF Changs :)

Wow - that peanut butter smoothie looks great! I've had a long time thing for PB.
I love to try new things at restaurants, but there are a few that have a favorite dish of mine that's hard to pass up. It's funny - when my sister and I go out to a restaurant we hate ordering the same dish because e love to try what the other person is having. Variety is the key to life, right?

Oh my lawd, Seasons 52. I was introduced in ATL and fell in love...and we JUST got one in the Chi area! I am making it my personal mission to broadcast its amazingness to anyone that will listen. And that is exactly what I got for dinner last time we were there. YUM.

It was SO nice to meet you at the cocktail party and your comments during the last session were so right on. Can't wait to read more from you!

That dinner looks just as good as the last time you got it! I tend to order the same thing at restaurants too. It may be unadventurous, but at least that way I know I'll like my meal!

I'm glad you had a good night with your friend! I have a friend studying in Spain this year too! Don't you wish we could join them? ;)
