It's Raining, It's Pouring

There’s no better way to welcome the Christmas season than with spring-like temperatures and monsoon-like precipitation.

In any case, I’m refusing to let the weather dampen my spirits. It’s the most wonderful time of the year, regardless!

Last night, I prepared a new overnight oats combination to dig into this morning.

  • 1/3 c rolled oats
  • 2 T oat bran
  • 2 T flax seeds
  • 2 T peanut flour
  • mashed banana
  • ½ c almond milk

This morning, I added some thawed frozen strawberries and microwaved it all for one minute to take the chill off. You can’t go wrong with strawberries + banana!

Later in the morning, I headed to the gym for a workout. Though I enjoyed my half-marathon training, it’s nice to be able to mix things up without thoughts of race day looming ahead. I completed half an hour on the elliptical and 15 minutes on the stationary bike.

Despite a wet and windy walk home (the wind actually broke a few hinges on my little umbrella), lunch was rather cheery!

He’s smiling at you J

I spread an Alvarado Street Bakery sprouted wheat bagel with Once Again creamy peanut butter and Crofter’s South America spread.

And enjoyed it with three giant medjool dates and a gala apple with cinnamon.

Now I just need to go find some hurricane gear to wear to class…hope you’re having a great hump day!

What’s the weather like in your neck of the woods? Any signs of snow yet?

No signs of snow here! But it did get down into the 30s last night. I think it's supposed to warm up again. I feel the same way about half marathon training - I've loved it, but like you said, I'm excited to mix up my fitness after the race. Your lunch looks delicious. I need to buy some bagels.

The weather is being so bizarre! It was warm, almost hot, before my 8 am class, and later on it was frigid!

What a nice, winterized overnight oats mix!

Hasn't stopped raining allllll day. But it's so warm! I mean, well... for NYC in December it's warm! I think part of the reason I haven't done another marathon for so long is that I like to just work out without a regimented training routine over my head - I'm a little afraid it would take the fun out of working out a little bit! It is good to have a goal, though...

I wish the snow would go away and the sun would come out!

Haha, I love your smiley plate!! Sorry about the weather, though. I'm coming to NYC for a quick trip this weekend and I hope the weather gets better! It's nice and sunny here today (although we have already seen lots of snow this year) - so maybe I'll bring the sunshine with me when I come.

Sunny in California. I sometimes get tired of the sun and wish for true winter weather. Is that crazy?

Girl, those oats sound awesome!! And look incredible!
It's COLD here but sunny... a great change from yesterday which was cold and rainy..ugh. I'd much rather have snow than cold rain.

I LOVE the glass you put your oats in!

It has snowed in the Pacific Northwest already. My home got about 6" and my school got less than an inch. But if rarely snows in Eugene.
