Hey babes! I hope you’ve all had a wonderful end to your weekend! Mine has been filled with absolutely nada, which is exactly what I needed. My parents were at the shore, my brother was at a car show, and I had the house to myself. As much as I love my family and friends, I’m very much an introvert, and I need some serious alone time every once in awhile to decompress. Nine and a half hours of sleep, lots of mindless TV and some serious room cleaning has helped me to R-E-L-A-X, so I’m ready to face the week!
After my long and glorious night’s rest, I had my favorite energizing breakfast (surprised?):
Nature’s Path SmartBran, blackberries, almond milk
I lazed around for a bit before heading to a ten o’clock church service. It was barely 11:30 when I got home, but I was ready to eat! Lunch featured an awesome new Trader Joe’s find:
These tortillas = amazingness. There’s no up front spice, and then all of a sudden your mouth is on fire. I paired mine with hummus, tomato and pickles, which was a delicious combination. They’re definitely a fun way to heat up a meal! Love me some spicy food. I rounded out the meal with two apricots and some cherries.
Plus a peanut butter pretzel truffle:
I headed to Tarjay a bit later to pick up some cereal for my family and other random stuff (for all of you Kashi lovers out there, it’s a dollar cheaper than most grocery stores at Target). Of course, it’s impossible to leave that place without something you don’t need, which explains the two jars of cinnamon and vanilla cranberry peanut butter I bought. As if I don’t already have enough…
I got home and snacked on a champagne mango, plus a protein shake containing a packet of Biochem chocolate vegan protein and a cup and a half of chocolate almond milk. Yummy.
A few episodes of the Real Housewives of New York later (I’m all caught up on NJ and NY now), I was ready for some dinner. I had a package of tofu noodles and a chopped Amy’s California burger in veggie marinara, alongside more roasted carrots and cauliflower.
And of course, a gala and the rest of my dark chocolate sea salt bar for dessert!
What’s your favorite way to relax? Do you prefer being alone to decompress, or with friends and family? Sometimes, I need people to bring me out of a funk, but if I’m just a little stressed and tired, some “me-time” does wonders!
Any new fun foodie finds recently? I was stoked to find those wraps, and I’m excited to break into my new PB as well!

Completely agree. Just had maybe the most stressful/ wonderful few weeks of my life so far. Now to catch up on my z's..
I am the same as you...I'm both an introvert and an extrovert. I'm very outgoing/talkative and love being social, but I need to balance it with some alone time and family time!
I'm a huge fan of me time. Sometimes I love it too much and almost become a recluse! But it may just be all my friends love to go out at 11pm at night and I'd rather be in bed. On the flipside I'm up at 7am, and they wake up around 12 or 1. hmmm.
Wow, everything you ate looks purely amazing. That habanero tortilla sounds epic!
I'm a very social person, but there are times that nothing will do but being alone. Shopping alone, crashing at a cafe with a book, or better yet, not bothering with getting dressed/made up and just staying around my house do wonders for stress levels.
Your weekend sounds nice!! I used to be around people ALL THE TIME and I needed my me time so badly. But now, I prefer to be with others. I don't know what changed but when I'm alone, it gives me too much time to think. I like to stay busy :) BUT I do still have my "me time" when I go shopping.. fun stuff.
That peanut butter sounds AMAZING!!! And girl, you know you can't go to Target without coming out with something you don't need. BUT I managed to this past Friday.. which is a FIRST!!! Go me!
Love you girl!
I ditto just about everything Michelle said! I'm not a huge fan of nights out anymore, and love being up early and getting my day started. Me time is great, but I never mind being around my mom or the barn group :) Glad you were able to enjoy a relaxing weekend. So nice to have a house completely to yourself, even if it's peaceful anyways!
All of your eats look amazing and that PB sounds fantastic!! I wouldn't have been able to resist, either.
I was just at Target today too and put that vanilla cranberry peanut butter into my cart, then at the last minute I put it back because I remembered the three thousand other nut butters I had at home! You MUST let me know how it is. I will make a speedy return trip to Targ if necessary. :)
I agree that "me time" helps me relax. I like to read or go on a jog or do crossword puzzles. That sounded so nerdy but hey I can't help what I love!
How do you like the tofu noodles? They look really good!!
hahaha marathons of the housewives is totally the way to decompress :) glad you had such a relaxing weekend!! i love when i have the house to myself! plus there's optimal time to make gooood foooooood
gotta keep my eyes peeled for those tjs tortillas!
i want that pb! goodness. our target is lame in the food department.
Ohh that tortilla sounds awesome! Love me some spice!
I love being busy with life and friends, but I need to balance it out with "me time". I'm the same as Michelle and Jess - I like getting to bed early, so sometimes I have to pass up on seeing friends in favour of sleep!
I definitely LOVE my 'me time" i'm the exact same way. those cherries are amazing and i just bought a sea salt chocolate bar.. which i'm really excited to crack into :)
hope your weekend was fabulousss
Ahhh... relaxation. My fav way to relax is yoga, a hot bath, and curling up with a good book, but not necessarily together! As for foodie finds, I am lacking, but your wraps look good! I love spicy food too chica!
ahh i LOVE that vanilla cranberry pb from target! I havent tried the cinnamon one yet, but let me know how it is!! (haha i totally dont need any nut butters either...)
and i totally go to target on purpose when i need kashi bars or kashi cereal. i love that its cheaper!
as for new food finds...
went to WF today, i got GOAT milk ice cream from La Loos. I'll be doing a review soon, but, WOAH WAS IT AMAZING. I dont even really liek plain vanilla ice cream, but this goat milk vanilla, i think its called vanilla snowflake?, SO. GOOD.
andd
i love the Mojo bars by Clif. Peanut butter pretzel and Mojo Mix? i think its called- really tasty!!
glad you had a good weekend =)
i like to relax laying out in the sun or being a complete TV bum. But if I need to destress, running is starting to really help! are you at the internship today? happy monday.
Foodie find: Chocolate dream PB!!! I have been loving it paired with oatmeal mini PB cups. Oh, and the PB cups were a big find at Trader Joes!
I love to relax by spending time with my family. :-)
fav way to relax is to watch tv or chick flicks or say yes tot he dress!!! haha I love guilty TV!! i also love going for a walk...helps clear my head
those wraps look SO good!! I had that cranberry vanilla PB from tarjay...meh I thouvght it was okay, not strong enough PB flavaaa for me but it was sweet and def finished the container!!!
I recently tried kefir and LOVE IT! i know its been around, btu i hadn't tried it yet so it was new to me!!
I totally need to pick up those tortillas on our next TJ's trip. I love spicy. I need alone time too. P went to LA a few month ago and as much as I love him...I needed some serious alone time. I loved every second of being by myself!
yummy wrap! i love apricots in summer too!
do you usually portion out the cereal or eyeball it?
i love time to relax by myself.. but because i am introverted if i tend to do it too much then i miss out on fun things so i have to make more of an effort to get out
I definitely have to have time to myself to stay sane. Sometimes I just need a quiet day at home and I am perfectly content to spend all day alone doing nothing.
In my mind, there is NOTHING better than some quality alone time. I wasn't feeling so hot on Saturday night, so I spent it reorganizing my closet and watching movies on my laptop. It left me happy, refreshed, and ready to have fun with my roommates. There is NO SHAME in enjoying being by yourself. I actually feel really bad for those who can't enjoy time with just their own thoughts.
OMG--I have to find some tortillas like that! I seriously love spicy food, I know I would love them. I too love some alone time--its very refreshing.
true story: my best friend's dad was on the real housewives of ny finale! such a star.
i definitely need my alone time, but i also love to be around people to bring me out of funk/enjoy time with. it depends on the day!
hapoy monday, lady.
Oh I'm such a loner when I need to relax. Except my puppy Sheldon hangs out with me. He's always invited. :)
Glad to see you were able to decompress a bit this weekend!
It's amazing what you can find at TJ's...I don't think I've ever gone in there and not discovered something fun and new unique...and then, of course, bought it!
I am also a relaxation introvert! I love being with friends, but when I'm overwhelmed or exhausted, it's me time. I like to curl up in my bed with good books. Or do random little tasks like plucking my eyebrows or grocery shopping.
Hope you're having a great Monday my love!
Oh, I REALLY love me-time. LOVE IT. Being alone is def the ultimate way to recharge for me.
Oh my gosh, right before I read this, I thought, "gah, I've been alone in my house for too long. I don't like!" But I've only been here for three hours maybe. I used to LOVE me-time, but now that I know I'm leaving my friends and man in a few days makes me want to see them around the clock!
Anyway, I am so sorry I've been absent from commenting for a little while! You've seen what I've been up to... lol.
I'm so glad you're at home relaxing while you can! xoxoxo
quickie, but wanted to say hi :) to my fave hottie!
and do you like that biochem choc vegan powder? if you have any comparison to sun warrior or jay robb brown rice, lmk!
xo
I *love* my alone time. Cherish and adore it. My boyfriend has to travel a lot for work but I really don't mind it because it gives me my space and i miss him by the time he gets back - I know it's going to be an important part of our marriage haha.
Girl, every time I read your blog, I just drool. I'm definitely gonna have to try making those pb-pretzel truffles. Oh man.
I hope youre having a spectacular day!!
Ahh those wraps sound SO SO good - I HAVE to find them at TJ's!!
Cinnamon and vanilla cranberry peanut butter sounds great! Is that one flavor or 2 different ones? And what brand is it?
Great blog- I just found it and am looking to catch up on your old posts!
